Glad you said it cause I was thinking that . Here is a idea if your a company driver and your company doesn’t offer apu and you want one give your two week once you find a new job and tell them your quitting because no apu and they don’t let you idle . Don’t tell me and other owner op we need 10000$ apu ...

I got a DREO portable 1500 W heater for Christmas. If I set opti idle on my truck I’m just wondering if I can use this heater in it. The truck is equipped with the ESPAR heater, but it’s been having issues and I’m tired of waking up at midnight cold AF.

Won't work. 1500 steady draw is WAY too much for your batteries, opti-idle or not. Howbout getting your heater fixed?

I'm not trying to poopoo on your idea but I think a lot of people underestimate the heating and cooling BTU's for a truck. I'd love to hear your real world experience of how this expensive product works but I don't expect it to fully cool or heat your rig at all.

Air conditioning is not new to humanity. It's gotten more efficient but it's still a serious power hog to make it effective. I'm in the process of installing a 9000 BTU mini split and have already installed 600ah of lithium in my rig and I expect this to only be effective for 12 hours or so at peak summer temps.

The wave 2 has a 100ah battery. Never gonna keep a rig cool overnight and heat is probably going to use even more power.

If that's the case you can just replace the Espar with an Amazon knock off version. Would be much less hassle, cheaper and safer.

Light candles what could go wrong? I have used the glass jar candles from the dollar store, they help. Only like two makes a difference. Not a huge difference, but noticable.
