I'll give you a tip.
After you get your CDL in your hot little hand, you can walk and never have to pay a dime to that school. I gave CR England the middle finger over a year ago and so far they never put anything on my credit report. I bet they didn't tell you how many people died last year in their dorms, they had an outbreak of something and two people died, oh yeah, they didn't even tell their families that they went to the hospital. I had that happen down in Mira Loma when I was in school, guy had heat stroke and all kinds of problems, and the people at the school didn't know what to do. Lucky for him there was myself, and a EMT in the class.

(Think long and hard and remember)
I've been Eyeballing this thread, cause I know someone doing that thing with cr England. You get what you paid for, and to go that far, and find out all of that, and be uncomfortable. Well let me say this. What exactly are you going to do on the road. Have a Bubble bath every night. You picked a tough business, and long hours. From the time you start on a run till your finished, it's all business, besides sleeping. You have to be up on the traffic conditions around you, the weather, the truck in general, and all your personal needs. Weigh stations, D.O.T checks, and what have you. The heck with that school, you get through that, and you have a license. Now doing the Job and hanging in there is something else. Why do you think there's a shortage of drivers, besides them becoming naughty, and crashing into things. I still am super careful about backing up. It takes one mistake, any trucker can tell you.
Yes Sir, Think hard and remember--it's more then that.
I still say, if your not college material go to a trade school. Learn a trade. I wish I was young again, you have all kinds of good schools out there, it just requires youth. -
..So, I guess C.R. England is doing their students a big favor by teaching them how to be screwed by Big truck truckin' companies by becoming another part of the problem rather than wasting the student's time by being a part of the solution.
By golly wannabees, this is a dawg-eat-dawg industry. We're here to prove that point by providing you with the worst of the worst experiences possible.
Leave your hopes and expectations at home when y'all come to Salt Lick City seeking to find the things we've promised you just to getcha here. Times change, minds change, and so do our promises.
Ultimately, we're planning on y'all to lease a junk truck from C.R. England and inherit the headaches we don't want. To be completely independent and royally reamed, let C.R.E. ruin your credit and cause y'all to go bankrupt as we re-lease the Big truck you sunk your life into -- making payments on a bridge in 'Frisco.
We'll see you comin' and we'll see you goin' -- out the gate, escorted by our professional and highly trained, armed guards -- who were wannabee police officers who couldn't pass the psychological tests and are passionate about gettin' even with y'all for their shortcomings. We've trained them to be all we want them to be. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, that's why we only employ the mindless.
Trust us. We have your back and best interests uppermost on our NOT Wanted Posters. Our team of experts know exactly how to poison your DAC record to assure y'all will be unemployable by ANYone for years to come. Y'all will learn what it's like to be homeless and penniless out in the cold. That's our mission in life -- to teach ya'll what it's like to be run out of state after state as we re-write the Greatest Story Ever Told.
Remember Elmira, New York.
Joe said important thing were gonna happen there. And that was just the beginning of the choir. Hear us sing Amazing Grace. Listen carefully to the words. HE might save a wretch like you, but, by golly, we won't.
And the BEST part is, there ARE those who WILL tell y'all that's the way it REALLY is, and y'all will ignore them and call them "morons" for seeing that y'all are lost as they try to help y'all be found. That's the BEST part of all. Y'all really DO think y'all know better.
That circus guy was right!
There IS one born every minute.
And we put 'em on a slow bus to Salt Lick City.
Welcome!
Let the show begin.
Step right up!
See the sainted recruiter tell lie after lie, and never even be called on it. Nary a question is asked by the fleeced flock. Blind leading the blind looking for their copy of the D.O.T. regulations, in Braille.
I 'feel' we have found the best Big truck truckin' company. And we did it in only a few weeks, without 'feeling' out any other options. Praise me, for I can maketh no mistake. Foreth I knoweth it all, 'cause C.R. told me so.
Red beith thy color of my leased Big truck.
Green beith the color of my payments for salvation.
Blue beith the color of my skin as I starve foreth my daily breath.
Yellow beith the color I strive to be and lureth thy neighbors into the web I am boundeth by.
My, My, My, said the spider to the fly,.....
Jump right ahead in my web,...................
Misery loves company.
I shall not want.
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
At England -- as it is in prison.
Calling All Lemmings!
Time to take that leap of faith.
Line up!
Prepare to stampede.
It's not for y'all to wonder why
Just to jump when we say "FLY".
And, ask "How high" --- half way up.
Don't look down.
That first step is a doozie.
At C.R. England --- all elevators go down.
All the way to the bottom.
Less distance to fall that way.
But y'all gotta look UP, to see down.
See, all-in-all, C.R. England is a pretty decent Big truck truckin' company. Those who don't see that can't see the forest for the trees. Is there any hope for them?

We are both smiling at CR England!!!

GRANDMADEBI: BILLY SAYS CHECK YOUR MESSAGES. He's doing fine, he's listening and staying off this thread. He's enjoying it. He said it's harder then he thought, but he's doing good.
If you treat it like a business, you'll do fine. that's the whole problem with people. They don't understand that a business can't be catering to a bunch of I want this and I want that. Why can't you make it with any company that has loads, and work, and all you have to do is go for it. Now granted there are terrible employers out there. But then if you have a great driving record, just leave. Done that and then some
Now about what the company did to me. Holy smoke, I can spend years on this thread, telling you the in and outs of what I went through trying to get paid. That's with the company owning the truck.
I see couples make a ton of money as a team out there. It's hard work, but it can be done.
I notice Aftershock, you are still sitting on the same subject, about armed guards and the such.
I've been in many places, including a meat packing plant with guards. Heck Kraft foods had them guys there too. Hauled for Mc Donalds out of Atlanta and they had guards there also. That's not unusal since they handle millions of dollars of freight. Now you have garbage people in the world, that try for a tucking job. Met many, pill poppers and coke heads, people that would sell the load out on the streets. So I'm not surprised to hear that at all. All companies screen. Walmart has guards. Metal detectors, have you seen the news about terrorists. They did it with a plane, learning how to fly, why not with trucks.
Now Aftershock if you were'nt such a naughty boy, you could of been something. I've owned a couple of trucks, so I've been down that road, and paid them off. Hard work is just a good habit.
"THOUGH I WADE THOUGH THE VALLEY OF MY TEARS"Now this should raise quit a reaction!!
Now aftershock I question you as a truck driver if you are or were. You mean you never saw security guards at these locations before????

One thing is for sure about being a company driver. You'll spend half your paycheck just eating on the road.

This is browneyes husband......
I will say this, I was an indipendent contractor with them. I did this for 2 months and only made $206 THE WHOLE TIME. After everything was said and done. I was brain washed by everyone at the company into leasing. Even my "CAT" trainer told me it sucked and I did not listen. I was told I would get 3000 miles a week but that happened only once. The DM's there "test" you for the first couple weeks to make sure you get loads to customers on time. Then they give you about 2000 to 2400 a week and that makes you about $150-200 a week after all the rediculous fees they charge you. FAR from the $900 a week they tell you that you are going to make off the 3000 mile weeks. My 3000 mile week made $620. Sometimes I would even owe them money from my settlement. THATS RIGHT negative income.
I recently left the company, and when you leave they inspect your truck and write down anything thats wrong with it. I had my truck for 2 months. No major things wrong with it maybe 4 things written down on the inspection form. Well I just got my final statement...... They found $2400 in repairs to the truck. I had $850 in my "maintenence" account that the took from me so now I owe them $1630 for a truck they gave me in crappy condition to begin with. There is no way in hell they are getting a nickel from me so ruin my credit they will I am sure. OH YES, whenever you have to call them for anything their staff is rude, mean, and just run you around and pass the buck to someone who most of the time cant even help you.
I now work for Gordon Trucking as a company driver. My first check with them was more than what I made with CR RIPLAND the whole time I was there. AWESOME company they take care of there drivers. DM's are cool they really work with their drivers.

So I work for england, actually needed a career change, thought about trucking and thier trucks looked nice.Had I knew then what I know now or found this site before hand,I may not have went with all the bad comments but I have to say I'm pretty happy now.I went thru the school in july, was in otr training in aug..My first trainer was an ###,I should have known gettin on his truck by the way it looked inside and the fact he was fighting with dispatch,it was going to be a bad trip.I only drove during the day,so my life was in his hands at night.Bad thing was he couldn't see at night or stay awake. We were late for most loads,he loved cruisin for women rather then worrying about work and to top it off he almost got us killed by a train with NOTHING else around from being sleep deprived(nothing like opening the curtain from the back only to be woken up with locked up brakes and face plastered against the dash) and I had to feed him most of the 4 weeks(which only should have takin 3).Needless to say I started drivin at night.MY cat trainer on the other hand was cool as hell, all the stuff I was not taught he showed me and if it was not for him I would not be driving now.Yes I was broke most of school and hardley made money for my first 2 months and way more went wrong then i'm posting but all in all england is treatin me pretty good now.I am 1 of the 2 in our class that still drive for them out of 40.I am pretty proud to say that because it is a challenge to be a driver,I hear most didn't even drive for anyone else, they just gave up.I'm a company driver,i've done recovery, walmart runs and now i'm intermodal.Everyone i have worked under has treated me great and so believe it or not. . .I'm happy working for england now.
Be safe out there everyone.
