You'll probably have learned your fate by now, but It's nice to see I"m not alone in these desperate times! For me it's been a recent trend of job hopping.. (psycho ex and bad luck) I leave tomorrow for Salt Lake and tempt the trucker gods by working at CRE.

Did you read post #153?
The saga continued on another thread, where Rolling Thunder (Billy), related how he was kicked to the curb by C.R. England. As I recall, he mentioned that the best advice gleaned from here at TTR was to purchase a round-trip ticket from New York to Utah, ------- just in case, as the case may be, and turned out, in fact, to be the case.
I rest my case.

Anyway, Billy returned to New York where he drove a taxi prior to his CRE misadventure, and picked up where he left off. Actually, the way he described his taxi driving gig sounded like a better deal after all.
Absolutely!
Do that.
Not just this thread though.
There are hundreds of other threads containing thousands of posts herein.
May as well read 'em while waiting for Billy to surface , ........ or re-surfacee.
I'm sorry to hear about your CRExperience, dabs.
It sounds as though you're still able to pull it together and utilize the experience gained with CRE. I hope so and wish y'all good luck and the best of success.
You're talkin' 'bout me, right?

Rolling Thunder I hope these answers help you out.
1. The sleeping arrangements out on the road are. Since you will be considered a team truck you will sleep in the lower bunk while the truck is in motion. Then while you are shut down( waiting for a load or reseting your clock) you will more than likely get stuck with the top bunk.
2. Yes they do have lockers in the rooms at Salt Lake. Just bring your own pad lock. Those are not furnished.
3. And there is wi-fi at Salt Lake. It is through Flying J. But be ready for it not to work all the time. -
All i can say is WOW !!!!

As a new driver most stories you hear are probably coming from guys who have it out for the company anyway, so if your trying to get your head in the door just endure the pain for awhile, get your experience and then weigh your options you will have alot more choices when you get experience. stay out of trouble DONT GET ANY TICKETS ( MOVING VIOLATIONS THAT IS)

Just curious, Rolling Thunder....where did you end up?

Hi Im new here and having same problem you were having 2 years ago... Allot of bad reviews about CR E. Did you join and how was it? Please help me out as I have a family to provide for... Me and my fiance thought CR E. was the answer but after all our review searching we found nothing but bad reviews... How was it at CR E. Is it a rip off? They want to send us to Utah as well. Look forward to talking to you.

I got my cdl and training thru CRE 4 years ago I worked for them for 1 1/2 years after getting my cdl, the company is pretty bad, actually its really bad, but I don't know if its much better or worse then any of the big companys that offer you a start in trucking. You can get your cdl thru a private school that cost a lot of money and then you have a cdl and no driving experience and no company except the big ones will hire you my advice do what I did, bite the bullet become a slave to CRE or Swift or one of the big ones get your 2 years experience keep you record clean and then you can go anywhere you want and work. I spent two years living on 200-300 a week as a company driver for CRE but at least it was a paycheck if you lease a truck I promise you you will owe them money in 3 months.
