positive thread for mcleod express

Trucker's Wife23, no disrespect to you or to your husband, but these drivers who complain about this company know what they are talking about! I have driven for McLeod and when I ran across this "positive thread"-I couldn't help but laugh at it! The facts are is that this company is a miserable dump! When I drove for them, their equipment was CRAP and getting into the terminal to get anything serviced was like pulling teeth! I know how this company mistreats their drivers because I've gone through it with them on almost a daily basis when I was with them! I have talked to other McLeod drivers on the road very recently and they all say it is still like this! They will screw over their customers just to screw over their drivers! It's like the office is being run by mentally challenged people-you know the term, the inmates have taken over the asylum? My best advice to anyone thinking of driving for this company is...RUN the other way!!!!


No offense to you but I find it insulting that you would call another driver spineless because he has legitimate gripes about a company. Perhaps it isn't that he is spineless, he just knows how a company should be ran as do I and McLeod ain't it!

 

I guess you will never know. The rate was 3.00 per mile. They were the ones excited, not me. There was no heat in the truck.

As far as backbone. I drove the truck up there. They wanted to bill me so what. I was willing to leave with my stuff in my personal vehicle. If no backbone, why would I do that?

I had a choice. I do not work for them. I own my own truck.

I do not care what you think. Let us know after you have been there a little bit.

 

McLeod is a terrible company. Been there and done that. Safety and shop are a joke! Office people need to stay off the forums and quit posting this nonsense repeatedly

 

Anyone have any current information on Mcleod Express? I live in East Tennessee, and was wondering if they have the freight that will get me home on the weekends. I live around Knoxville, Tn. And I was told that they get you a rental car to make the drive up there? If that is true, that is a first! That would be so much nicer than the Greyhound Bus. Especially since I could haul all my stuff up in the rental car. Any information would be great! Thanks!

 

I am a current driver for McLeod. Stuck in the trap that if I change jobs too often it looks bad, but I would NOT recommend McLeod Express. Maintenance sucks, you're just a money maker to them. They don't care if you get home at all. 3 weekends home is a lie. More like Saturday night to early Monday morning. Unorganized planning/dispatch. Safety doesn't have a clue either. Personnel defends the company.
