Well, still wasn't able to find a job, officially given up. I'm probably just going to downgrade my CDL soon, I don't need it anymore.

Or self-certify with the DMV as "EXEMPT INTRASTATE." This allows your CDL to remain active when not in use and precludes the need for a physical/med cert. Just be sure to re-take a physical and re-certify with the state as "NON-EXEMPT INTERSTATE" a couple weeks before attempting to apply for employment again (this gives enough time for all the systems to update and for the slow DMV workers to actually input your certification/med cert in the system).Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
