I apologize if this has been covered but I am wondering if anyone knows how much eligibility is used for CDL training. More precisely, we get 36 months of education benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill. A typical college semester would use four months of that eligibility. I have seen CDL training schools that last as little as two or three weeks of training so would that draw my eligibility down by a month, less than a month, more? Thanks if anyone has an answer for this from experience.

Hope this helps you in your decision, there's other vets on here that are more current on the benefits than I am as well.mrfitsaro Thanks this. -
It takes off like 1 or 2 months total.
I received an associates degree in Casino Management, then decided 2 years ago to get my CDL (5 week class), and am now using the remainder in Werner's Vet Apprentiship program ( since Jan 2017) and I am now about to run out of benefits within the next 2 or 3 months.mrfitsaro Thanks this. -

I used mine with ATI. It was 10 weeks long and used 3 months of my GI Bill. Covering the 6.5K needed to complete the class as well as the stipend.
So to answer your question, that would depend on the CDL school and how long it takes, as long as the school you pick accepts GI Bill tuition. Personally I would pick the school with the longest class. It gives you the best chance to score the most out of your stipend and it gives you a solid chance to get your CDL with the most drive/class time, IMHO -
Good thing you found a job that you don't have to be proficient in the writing or comprehension of the English language.mrfitsaro Thanks this. -
