Strap becomes useless in Canada. Granted, I've never heard of someone getting a ticket for a strap without a tag, but I'm sure it happens when someone finds that one officer on a bad day.

You can most definitely cover them with the tarp, how else is the load going to stay dry? Lol.

Dye, why is that one pak of lumber sticking out in the front. Longer boards I hope

Don't be mistaken about one thing. For me it is rejuvenating to see a group of truckers who take pride in their job. The clown part, I don't know what I was thinking.

Oh yes I can sense you were just poking fun and not pointing out that MJ was not doing it right :) I have seen his loads on here and know that he is a pro at securement... I was just pointing it out joking around as well... Yeah I am always around flatbed as I am a former flatbedder and miss it so this somewhat fills the void haha ...

@johndeere4020 ... That is a excellent read for sure... I still don't think these need to be used only for securing the tarp.... I would never use them to secure a load down, but small things in a pickup bed wouldn't hurt especially if the person doing it knows the different between a worn out, sun cracked bungee for a bungee in good shape, that still has lots of resistance when you pull it...

The only things that I use bungees for on my truck to hold down would be light tools.. Snow Shovel, Brush etc.... I have several bungees on these items so I have like 150 lbs WLL (3 bungees) and I replace them when I see cracking.. A shovel and brush don't weigh any more then 10 lbs (if that).. I think for things like this bungees are good... Now I do have a 1" ratchet strap holding this stuff down now, but I did use to just use the bungees.

Forgive me one and all. Clowns was a poor choice of a word. Jokers or jokesters would have been far better choice.
Keep up the educational aspect of this thread as I am getting more and more into doing it in the open. Who says you can't teach old dogs new tricks.

I just threw that article out there because I thought it was interesting. To me common sense should apply (I know I know) in Carl's situation a couple of tarp straps holding down a board should be fine.
