I try to always go back to the chain unless I just need another inch or two. No good reason though. Normally I'll just go to a spool anyways.

Curious is a brand-new reitnour trailer comes with jhook tie downs? My trailer is a 2016 and my company didn't even know what jhooks were. The 4 that I have I had to purchase on my own

Anyone ever have a dolly crank handle smack them in the face before? I did yesterday. In two years, never had a single instance of snap back, but yesterday, I don't know what happened, but I let go, and now I've got nine stitches, and a nice black eye as a result.

I was really, really, really, really, really lucky my eye wasn't involved. Or that anything was broken.

I'm going to add this to my collection. I like the clever application of the extra straps over top with the J-tracks.

How far in are the j tracks? Are they right on the edge?

I've seen some dedicated steel haulers in the rust belt that have j tracks or chain pulls about 2 feet in from each side. I love it and I think it's the best additional to coil securement. Some even have square holes in the trailer. They set square tubing in them then put their beveled boards against the tubing. No coil racks.

    Thats a nice load.

I dont mean to nit pick. But are those steal plates on the upper deck?

Personally I would have some edge protection for the straps, and put a twist in them to stop them from sailing in the wind.
