    That is a good point. Sticks and stones dont slosh backward after a brake check. Youre right, didnt think of that.

    how do you guys strap the bags of mulch etc. right over the top? is here any case where you strap just the pallet and trust the shipper packaging above

    I'm fairly certain saran wrap doesn't have a weight rating.

    No. The packaging tends to keep it together so you can get away with having individual bags at the top that aren't strapped but not to secure the entire pallet.

    Minibulk (large "canvas") bags are not attached to the pallet. They are put on pallets to make handling easier. I have watched a bag fall off a pallet on more than one occasion from just rough movement by the forklift.
    Not strapping over the top is just plainly unsafe!!!

    The only time I ever strapped only the pallet and not the freight I insisted that the shipper signed that I was not responsible for damage or the safety of the securement during transport.
    The only time I strapped pallets only was thin metal boxed machines bolted to a hardwood pallet. These I would put extra protected takedowns if possible after leaving the shipper and remove them before arrival at the receiver.
