I just hook the chain to one end of my winch bar and push it in as far as it will go.
Then go to the other side and pull it thru with my 5th wheel puller..
That way I'm using stuff already on the truck.Crusader66, MAMservices, midcon and 9 others Thank this. -
My luck, I would lose my winch bar inside the reel.

Thanks, that looks way nice. I desperately need to add another box somewhere just for padding and edge protectors. I’m considering selling 2 ramps and the stands to free up more room on trailer frame. I very seldom use them.

How much you want for them?midcon, cke, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this. -
Honestly, I'm thinking when I repaint my truck, putting a new tank on the driver's side and taking the passenger off. Then, putting another box there. It's a rarity that I can't find fuel, but it seems I always need more storage. Plus it would cut some weight. It would cost me more in fuel in the long run though. I travel the 55 corridor alot. I will load in the upper Midwest then deliver to Houston or the likes. Then load there and go back north. I fuel in Steele mo alot. I have enough fuel now that I can fuel up and then hit it on the way back. Saves me alot. Couldn't do that with one tank though. Uhhhh, decisions......

Edit: I've never had a regular step, but my buddy did until just recently. With all his crap on it, I couldn't believe how heavy he was. Plus the boxes were tiny, like half the size of mine. He just bought a flat a month or so ago. Likes it much better. -
Its the never ending evolution of a flatbedder. Never enough storage. When i first started driving. Just had boxes on the truck and a 3 door headache rack, no trailer boxes... I quickly wished for some trailer boxes.... With dsv i have storage boxes on the truck and 2 on the trailer and it didnt take me long to fill it all up with crap. Now im wanting a 3 door rack on my truck again so i can get more storage.

On my Pete, I had 1 150 gallon tank on drivers side. Never had a problem with fuel. The passenger side had a 60 inch box. Then a 3 door vault in back. Had nothing on the trailers other than ramp/levels.cke, Kyle G., God prefers Diesels and 3 others Thank this.
