Yeah I think that's what it is. Although I never got past 2nd gear driving it around the yard there . Pretty sweet old rig. Fired right up as soon as I hit the button.

Seriously? Well it's not mine and I ain't gonna go stealin it off of there.. Kinda feel bad for the owner . He was a life long trucker and ran the business in the oilfields. Said he can't drive no more because of back injuries and he's sending all his stuff to auction and getting out for good... talked to him for a few minutes, I could see the hurt in his eyes. But I guess sometimes you just got to know when to give it up.

How ya liking the brand new next gen Kenworth so far ? I seen a lot of those now on the road. The bodies look huge on them. You got the digital dash and all the bells n whistles?

Back when I was doing a lot of machinery work, we had a place we worked with quite a bit. They did a lot of used and rebuilding of equipment. While they had lots of work for us, the work sorta sucked. Most of the equipment we were picking up was from businesses that were closing for some reason. A lot of mom and pop places that just couldn’t complete any more. Nothing good in seeing a man watching his life get loaded in to a trailer and hauled away.

It’s not a bad truck, yes I have the new digital dash, even the new 567’s have them now as Pete has completed the changeover.

I’m getting used to the MX-13, it’s so much quieter than the X-15 and I’m missing that turbo whine. I of course miss the extra HP (500 vs 456) and torque (1850 vs 1650) but I’m seeing 1 mpg more so given the fuel prices I understand. Of course I really miss shifting myself just to have something to do, but the new transmission works so well I rarely take it out of drive.

It’s an adjustment, but it’s not as bad as I feared. :).

Another fun week despite some setbacks on a couple of these loads. Always a good time when you get to truck with your buddies @PSM379
