No it’s my party hat…
Actually, yes it is the Matterhorn. Just about everywhere you go in that region, you’ll have it somewhere in the background. It’s a very prominent peak…my wife’s brother climbed it about 15 years ago. We love it over there, going back in September…

Had a nice week, loaded more yellow stuff in IA, took it to NY and MA and then picked up cable.
Running that to LA and TX…with a stop at home along the way. And they call this work
D.Tibbitt, FerrissWheel, Kyle G. and 8 others Thank this. -
Thought so. Wife and I did that once. Took the train from Milan spent a couple days there. Then train back to Milan and over to Venice. 2 things struck me was how fresh the air smelled, and color of the glacial river that flowed down from there. The train ride back down followed the river a lot and it is the most unique color. Loved it there for sure.D.Tibbitt, FerrissWheel, God prefers Diesels and 5 others Thank this.

We mostly stay in Zermatt where no vehicles are allowed. That’s why the air is so clean, everyone walks. According to my phone, I walked over 150 miles on my “vacation” last year. The rivers look like gray milk from all the minerals coming down from the glaciers…
I saw this guy strapping his load last year…and was thankful it wasn’t mine…D.Tibbitt, cke, FerrissWheel and 6 others Thank this. -
Zermatt has vehicles….. electric ones.

I am on line 3 or 4 all day (local driver). I also punch a time clock, so we have to be on duty when punched in. But I actually am legitimately working the entire time, I never take a break. I will usually pop into a truck stop to grab a coffee or a snack after fueling, which takes maybe five minutes, but that’s not worth going off duty for.D.Tibbitt, cke, FerrissWheel and 5 others Thank this.

Cool pic of the fat basstard I hauled this week

Got a level 2 yesterday, only my second inspection in almost ten years of driving. Was over axle on the tandems so got cited for that... But it was actually not a terrible experience. The officer was very professional and respectful and had a good sense of humor. I was able to rework the load on site with my own forklift and go on my way. -
Ya, you may have transported them, but I've operated them, so there!! lol
I just don't remember a whole lot from it, because, well ...... there's lots of illicit drugs in the Army, and oh my gawd the vats of Weizen ...... WWHHHEEEEEE!

Wicked cool suspension ain't it!D.Tibbitt, cke, welldigger00 and 3 others Thank this. -
Perfect!
I really am glad to hear that part, as I know from my towing end of the road, sometimes that wrecker for a load-shift can be a hundred miles away, and you're paying for every mile, for even a 20min shift to pacify the man to get you a green light.D.Tibbitt, cke, FerrissWheel and 5 others Thank this.
