Best time of day to be in the city… I remember watching the morning news when they made a big deal about that tree getting cut down up in Queensbury. Later in the afternoon I happened to be coming north on the Thruway below Newburgh and passed the convoy of state troopers traveling with the tree…what a HUGE backup they had going on! I even heard about “some unexplained backup” going south on the local traffic report…singlescrewshaker, God prefers Diesels, cke and 4 others Thank this.

picking up is way better than delivering/ 4:00pm-midnight the day before thanksgiving sucks. People hanging all off the truck taking pictures, posing and all such. Full of tourists. Meanwhile I get to wait til the scaffolding company leaves so I can pick up handfuls of nails n screws before I pull in.
picking up: I show up for 6:45am on a saturday morning, don’t have to wiggle onto the Plaza platform; just pull up throw the hazards on n do it to it in the street. Much more my style.singlescrewshaker, God prefers Diesels, exhausted379 and 9 others Thank this. -
Getting ready to roll out to Phoenix for my third trip from so cal this week. I know where every single gator, pothole, and lawdog is from port Hueneme to Eloy…

A quick and cheap load of lumber destined for Mexico, Texas to Texas. Fortunately I won’t be the lucky one taking it across the boarder
. The load will pay and position me to pick up more green stuff going to MN.

Good evening, my friends. I bring tidings from the South. I got a call from a friend of mine wanting me to assume a management role at a wireline company. Plan right now is to maintain my interstate authority, and work in the oilfield.
I still want to truck, and my wife wants to go on the road with me. This should put me in a good position to scoop up cheaper equipment soon, and start fixing everything wrong with it. Then I'll be ready to go back out full time.
I just got out of the truck, and I already miss it. In four years, I never missed wireline.
My apologies for not keeping in touch. I didn't want to say anything until it was final.
How's everyone doing?singlescrewshaker, Nostalgic, cke and 16 others Thank this. -

I'm sorry. I was taking a break from... everything, and it ran long.
I think the only reason I'm back in the patch is he called when I was in the middle of spooning new drives on my truck, so I was pissed at it anyway, and one thing led to another.singlescrewshaker, Brettj3876, Nostalgic and 9 others Thank this.
