Breathe.....driver, breathe.
It happens. No sense getting your blood pressure up.
It's the cost of OTR, you can't bypass things you'd know locally, so just put your head down, inform dispatch if it's going to cause a problem, and soldier on.

Finally finished my 4 stop load in Wyoming and Idaho. I will never do that again. Nothing but ice storms, snow, and road closures. I burned about 500 miles all on back roads where I was lucky to see pavement under the snow. Now got a nice load of hay back home to Texas where I can feel safe again haha. Boysen state park sure was pretty.

yep i told myself, i’ll get there when i get there. called dispatch and everything was kosher with the receivers as the window for delivery was actually 9am to 4pm. kicker about that is that they were about a half mile from each other.
i think the thing that got me today was i shoulda know better and got all my stuff out of my broke down truck. that right there burned 2 1/2 hours round trip to get the rest of my stuff out. lesson learned there
good news is, i’ve gotten my time down on securing my sheet rock load that heads to Florida down to 45-50 minutes. and that’s strapping the front and rear skids (stacked 2 high) with 3 straps, and the middle skid (stacked 3 high) with 4 straps and bungeeing the tarp down and that’s fighting this gawd awful wind here in Georgetown SC.God prefers Diesels, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this. -
Just curious, not criticism how come you twisted some straps and not the others? I miss hauling hay, company I'm leased onto though has it on our do not haul list

3500 miles with my axle up on the west coast too... Singh and them don't even have a chance to speed up as I blow by this time around

By the time they hit the gas I'm already through
and I'm serious!!!
I'm maybe getting better fuel mileage with 46k on the deck, cause I'm in the right lane... Axle on the wagon up means, I'm left lane
gotta go... Cascadia with California plates getting doors BLOWN away

Well… turns out I gave no f’s when it was 14 degrees and 29mph winds. Actually had to have the loader grab the strap as I threw it and tie it to the rail so it didn’t blow over. They don’t need to be twisted as I saw no vibration but yeah I take pride in my work and I will probably fix it soon. I don’t like the location of some straps also but all my winch track was frozen.
Looks like I’ll have time. I-80 in WY has been closed for several hours and now the website says estimated to be open in 19 hours. Basically tomorrow night!Last edited: Mar 3, 2023

Yes sir, like I said no criticism. Been there done that. It's really bad when ya throw the straps just to have the wind eat them, then ya gotta roll them back up and throw the hook side... gotcha. Everyone here had been there!!!God prefers Diesels, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this.

When I was with Melton, 2 winters in a row I ended up getting 2 alfalfa loads out of Crater of the moon area in ID going to TX. Some of my favorite runs, usually ended up dropping down through MoabGod prefers Diesels, cke and CAXPT Thank this.
