    I've been led to believe that they can use electricity away from home. I think there are different levels/styles of Amish. These guys had a full shop of machines, older jd tractor stuck in the loft over the office area, and 3 forklifts on site(diesel and propane).

    It varies group to group. Depends on what the bishop allows. Some can use tractors, but has to have steel wheel. Phones and electronics in business but not at home. Some sects are more liberal than other sects.
