One way or the other we get paid for them. Either figured in to the materials when we bid the construction job, a separate contract to provide materials only, or on a time and material basis. Everyone in this business knows how hard it can be to come up with big root wads, and anymore they usually acquire materials separate from the construction contract so that the bid doesn't get biased according to who may have an in on material sources.cke, CAXPT, exhausted379 and 6 others Thank this.

Took me a minute to find the pictures, but you mentioning stringing pipe made me think of these pictures of a Canadian friend of mine….blairandgretchen, CAXPT, sawmill and 14 others Thank this.

In the late 70's and early 80's I moved a fair amount of culverts across the Canadian prairies.
We regularly hauled 2 60ft lengths of 6ft wide on 45ft trailers pulled by 244" freightliner cabovers with 4ft front overhang.
I pulled them with my 76 Western Star heavy haul winch tractor with 2.5ft front overhang. -
