Nice easy Saturday load.

 

Only 6 axles? I moved a 336 to Utah and brought one of those back on our 8 axle trailer. I thought they would pull me in to the scale so that they could laugh at me in person. Did not get pulled in so they were probably laughing so hard they could not push the button.

 

I pulled an IC 80 Broderson across Ohio on a 65 ton 9 axle beam they had me pick up after dropping a bigger picker, the Cambridge scales laughed at me.

 

5 actually, had the 3rd axle on the trailer lifted. What I don't understand is that job was 2 hours out of town, I could have brought back a 2nd piece into town. But I didn't say anything, its not my job to organize moves, plus it will be more work for me later.

Just finished moving this.



Now to go give the truck a shower and make it look purdy again.

 

A Navion, wonderful plane to fly. Hope it went to someone who put it back in the air and not just on display.

 

I am an owner op leased to this carrier. At the moment I am driving his truck being paid a base weekly salary.

As for the permits.. I assume this is what you are questioning? They use Mercury permits. Carrier knows the dimensions of his truck. The issue is if the truck is over anywhere he is known to push the limits and just pay the fines when caught. IE.. over length and no pilot/escort. In most cases where he can he will get annual permits to cover things like in Fla they will get 53' steps that are more than 40 from king pin to center axle. For $20 they give you an anual permit and you dont have to worry about closing you spread before the state line.

 

Engine problems. Took it 150 miles home for him. Hauled a yak 18A once too but sadly, no pics.

 

I hear that yaks can be a pain to secure, especially if you do not get that first rope around the horns....

 

Boss changed his mind, so no truck wash. Moved thus from Baytown to Alvin, Tx.

Was nice to get in a full day since I took Monday off, still got my 60 hours. Time for some wobbly pops!
