Is that Amish load going near Rice Lake, Wi?
Since last year I've been getting surrounded by the Amish. They have bought 7 Farms within 4 miles of me on all sides. Their coming from all over trying to start a new community. Wi, MN, Iowa and even Canada.

How are they? Nice farms or dumps?
We had a clan of them around me a few years ago. They trashed the farms they bought. They eventually moved. -
They did the same thing in my area except we weren't lucky enough for them to move. Everybody thinks they're great wholesome people until you live around them.1951 ford, MJ1657 and passingthru69 Thank this.

That is the key. I lived in Amish country and still live close by to see them every day. The visitors think that the Amish are great and buy their baked goods not knowing that most if not all of them are not really made by the Amish. All they really need to do is look under them to see the manufacture's label.

One Amish family moved in late last fall. I think the guy has 13 kids. Full grown all the way down to diapers. I know they cleaned up the fence lines real nice on that place. The rest are in the process of moving in.
To me it's just a little strange how fast things happened. In less than a year they started by buying some old dairy farms. Small out of date operations that haven't seen cows in years. They went from that to offering big money on bigger pieces.
I must be too young. I'm the only guy around they haven't tried to buy out.
It's a really tight knit farming community here. Every one of the Farms that sold so far I've known the guys all my life, combined, trucked, sprayed, made hay, and drank an ocean of beer with.
I'm trying to keep an open mind but something doesn't feel right.MJ1657 and johndeere4020 Thank this. -
We had a new group move in just north of me. Not sure how they are yet. I do know when they want something at an auction they can hold their hand up longer then I can.

My wife had old steel dump rake wheels for decorations. The things are everywhere. I told her the Amish might be interested in them for the right $.
passingthru69 Thanks this. -
Cluck would have had that one listed as 35 partials and made $20000 after fuel. And Cluck would have tarped the rocking horse with a garbage bag for $50.4mer trucker, fisher guy, lester and 6 others Thank this.
