    I've had my shocks break before,.. but never seen an air bag do that.

    It was on a trailer I picked up, not sure how they managed that. I'm glad it wasn't loaded.

    Quite easy,it is a round axle.
    The support has turned on the axle causing the airbag to be no longer straight.

    That support holds the axle more than the axle holds it. It's not turning anywhere.

    If I was guessing I would say that one or more of the mounting bolts on the bottom have came out.

    Pretty sure you've got it since the base has slid three quarters of the way off the pedestal.
