Only checks I have need to be held for about a week before cashing. I’m suffering from pay check envy. Am I the only one who constantly thinks “If I could only make just a little bit more”. No matter how much I’ve made?

No you’re not the only one. I’m always looking. Not to jump per se, but always trying to figure out how to make a better situation for myself and family. I don’t hate being a truck driver but I certainly don’t do it because of a burning passion to drive a truck. Point is if I’m spending my time here putting energy in that direction, I’m going to do my best to make the most use of that energy. I think I’m in the best spot I can be in within this industry, as a company driver, in the state I’m in, but I still look regularly.

Oh now you’re just bragging!! Lol!! I just looked at the stub again. I’d definitely be pushing for 60 hrs in 5 days. $30 hr. is great pay. $125k + per year working Local can’t be beat.

Now i need to caution you that these are not 8 hour days. More like 10,11,12.
Another thing to realize is that here at Tremendous Force (we handle freight with tremendous force...) we have a stupid mandatory 30 min lunch rule, which must be taken within 3-6 of start time. SO, while the check may say, for example 54 hours, i was really on the clock for 56.5 hours. Add in a 30 min commute (one way, so 1hr total per day) and your day is GONE.

Sometimes i've gone straight to bed upon returning home----and then wake up next morning and do the same dam thing again. One time i got carry out, beef lo mein, which was good AF----and fell asleep in bed while eating it! i've fallen asleep while talking with people on the phone.

So yes, the numbers look and are good. And really good benefits. But, in most cases, the $100K does not happen with 8 hour days. That's one of the things i miss about OTR; It seems depending on company, you can more or less, create your own schedule.

For sure. I work a 4 day week 48-52+ hrs, sometimes a fifth or very rarely a 6th day. Those 4 days are only for work. On occasion I try to squeeze something else in, I end up just messing myself over for the rest of the work week. But 3 days off is nice, and so is the pay so no complaints. Is what it is
