This crap with these training wheel co's needs to stop. All they care is that the trainer signs off so they collect their govt $$. Well a goods trainer is not going to do that because if that student goes out & kills someone, then the investigators are digging through files & sees your signature saying he student was fit to drive when they weren't & will nail the trainer.

Did I mention I to worked at" crst for a short while, they offered me,a trainer truck for, six, extra cents a mile, I told them I think I need,to drive for you at least a month or two tp make sure I fully understood the paper work before I felt safe in teaching a rookie driver anything, they tried for three days to get,me to take up training , well I became a co drivet with out doing the 28 day stuff, my co driver had been with crst one year and was peed off that our,fm kept requesting,me,to consider training , one week droving with this guy made me a nervouswreck he knew everything yet knew nothing, and couldn,t understand I been driving for many, years, and, could help him to learn to drive the truck he couldn t float gears and barly knew how to back up ,a hour just to bump a dock when he had a footballmfeild and no othet truck near us, once I finaly showed him how to back up he decided,he wanted to train so he asked to be a trainer and, they approved him, I quit shortly, after and have no plans,on team driving, unless I can pick the trainee, no slobs and, they, must,be willing to drive, right aswell understand basic instrutions on staying safe, lol I don.t get many school boys that want my help, their young and passed cdl school so they know more then I will ever know. We need school teachers that will teach students how to drive not just how to get there degree and cdl. Yeah I know many, trainees want to learn, I.m talking about the few that will bash my poor writing skills cause I have fat fingets and this phone has tiny keys, but I will admit I can.t spell ether.

I was very fortunate enough to have a good trainer. It helped alot because I picked up on my job very fast and learned quickly. I finished USX training in a hair over 3 weeks. My trainer was nice, informative and old school. He lacked a slight sense of humor but everything was awesome. He upgraded me and we parted ways. I couldn't imagine how it would have been getting a horror story trainer.

my trainer i had when i was with Shaffer was a great guy. he was Persian and he and his wife had immigrated to the USA 30 years ago. i learned many things about that part of the world and his culture. i still keep in contact with him to this day.

he was one of the few that would get out and watch me back in and would step in to correct if needed. but if i got into a jam, he would wait and see if i had learned how to correct it before doing anything. most trainers these days would probably scream at a student and call them names, but i guess after 16 years of driving, nothing really bothered him.

the only thing that bothered him, and i found out it was with every student, was he would not sleep unless the truck was parked. turns out one of his first students fell asleep at the wheel during the 6th week of training and rolled the truck and it messed his shoulder up something bad.

i guess that might ruin me from trusting someone behind the wheel too no matter what kind of vehicle control they demonstrated.

All right, hold on a second. You were in the truck several weeks and you never noticed a bottle of JD? And he pulled it out while driving? I'm finding that hard to swallow.
