I've been lurking for several weeks now as I research changing careers. I live in New England and every spring the back roads get posted. The posted limit is 23,000 lbs and as long as the empty truck is under that weight I would be able to drive to the house.
So my question is, what is the typical empty weight for a truck?

Well a Mack R model and 40 foot 3 pot bulk tanker might be around 25K total empty.
My Century 2001 was around 17,000 and the great dane was 15000 when all in. Total is over 30,000. Call it 32,000.

Yea, winter isn't over yet. Talk of 8 to 10 inches this weekend.
Thank you for the responses. There is a local gas station that I might be able to leave the trailer at during the time that roads are posted.

My 2015 Cascadia with full tanks and empty 53ft reefer is 34,000 to 35,000lbs depending on if it's a newer trailer. The older ones weigh a little more.
