Lol welcome to Chicago. The speed limit is more of a suggestion. My grandpa, or uncle from out of state got pulled over for doing the speed limit. The joke is 90 on 90. Unless you're being stupid reckless the cops don't care. They have too many torture dungeons to run and minorities to oppress.
I should add, unless you're on the north shore off the interstate, especially if you're not where you're supposed to be. That's where all the rich people live.

lol, yeah If they actually enforce governed speed limiter then they need to change all posted speed signs nationwide to that.
I'm still on the fence about that law but it should be done though but 65 would be a fair speed -
When they mandate speed limiters I’ll have to get new truck with all the radar stuff to get that extra 5mph that the ATA is pushing for.
Why would they need to change all the signs? Speed limit can still be 75 or 80 or whatever, trucks will just be mandated to what the government decides is good and safe for us. It will be nice when there aren’t any truck accidents anymore. -
if they don't change the posted speed limits in cities for example like 55 if your governed at 65 then your breaking the law and speeding still.
and ha Ata has never successfully lobbied for anyone but themselves -
They’re pushing for 5mph if you have adaptive cruise and collision avoidance because it benefits their members, but if that’s how it goes through than it would apply to anyone who has a truck equipped with it.
You expect any place that has posted speeds lower than whatever the mandated limit is to up their posted speed? That’s not likely to happen. -
Yes. The minorities in Chicago are very law abiding and the police are just harassing them. GTFO

Shoot I run New Jersey all the time. Speed limit is a suggestion. You do the speed limit there you’ll have the 4 wheelers pass you then slow down and cut you off. Need to keep it 10 over constantly (assuming i95 or i295 anywhere else slow it down). NJ has outlawed speed cameras (not just about red light cameras) so only way you get a ticket is it a cop nabs you but honestly they’re going to go after someone doing 25+ maybe 15+ on a slow day and if they’re behind on their quota.

As long you keep it 75 or under they don't bat an eye. I'm usually going eastbound in the morning rush hour and the only way you'll get pulled over is for doing something ridiculously stupidGreenPete359 and Ffx95 Thank this.

Yep keep the truck under 75 & out of the left lane. Keep the car under 80Brettj3876 Thanks this.

I drive 64.9 mph trucks.
All governed to UNDER 65 to meet corporate/company mandate.
It runs this speed in South Dakota as well as greater Chicagoland.
If you want to go slower I will go around you, and if you want to pass me use another lane. No problems.
I really don't care what speed you run, it's not my concern.
Nobody gives a rip if you ain't reckless out here, there's too many other issues with today's workforce.
Even my company who was so camera friendly at the start, would send a color copy of every event, has turned down all parameters so only actual collisions or violent chuckholes are captured. Manager said he couldn't keep up with 450 emails from events each day.
To the OP..
Stay aware, drive responsibly and don't let others trigger your anger.Bean Jr., gokiddogo, GreenPete359 and 3 others Thank this.
