That might be an isolated case. CH Robinson is biggest rippoff. They will try to tell you that, work for us for free for first 50 loads and then you may start seeing some reasonable rates. Most of the time there will be the other person who will talk to you with different story and B S, the original person is always on the other line after booking the load with you. What a joke they are.

ask them if they will work for free for say...100-140 hours...or more.....see what they say..
There are just trying to get their difficult loads moved for as little as possible.

CH Robinson profited over 9 billion in 2010

I haul quite often for CH. I think they are a broker and are in business to make money. I have a few offices I can't stand dealing with so I rarely do and some that are my first call. If the rate they offer doesn't work I say no thanks and move on. I also haul for TQL - they can be tough to deal with and I question a couple loads that cancelled with them. I guess my point is, no broker tells you what you haul loads for - you decide to haul it or not. If dummies will haul it cheap than eventually their truck will break or insurance comes due or something and they will be gone. Be disciplined and you will be fine.

Anyone ever see something laying around outside and you go to pick it up and they want you to tarp it?
Yea, brokers pushing up the rates for something that doesn't need to be tarped.
I got one this week that told me, the broker was charging the receiver up to $300. for tarps.

Thanks for some of the bad brokers drivers. Can we get some good brokers to use posted? I've been driving for 15 years and finally got my own gear now. Could use some help finding good brokers or best load boards to use. ???
