Just use some logistics straps to hold them down.

will be loaded light in front then heavy in center then light in rear. Total mess when you get empty. But it won't shift.

Hopefully you'll have a lift platform to dump those spuds then it's off to the wash out joint.

    Badmon and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Interesting. Is this common practice for potatoes?

    Yes.
I used to haul out of Canada and the Dakotas to potato chip and frozen potato product companies in MN and they all had lift dumps for bulk potatoes.

Yep seen that a few times, still amazes me.

But always make sure empty your pee container, had a driver tell me that he left his big gulp cup on the floor with pee in it and he had to replace his mattress. Don't know if it is true it is amazing what you do forget to secure in the cab.

Rideandrepair, D.Tibbitt and Dennixx Thank this.

We used to put down a small layer of hardwood sawdust on the reefer floor first. Shipper would load them with a conveyor, start in the nose and work their way back. NY to FL, seed potatoes, once there the receiver would usually unload them with a bobcat. Yes, there was mess that needed to be swept out before you could reload.

Some places will tilt the whole rig up, while others would have you drop the trailer and just tilt that up.

Load shifting, no, they rode pretty good....

Rideandrepair, Lostmykey and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
