Have an interview with an aggregate outfit next week. Willing to take me on with the expectation I'll get my double/triple endorsement. Maybe my luck is finally turning.

You have to put your military expectations out of your mind. Civilians, by and large, are ####bags. One place you might actually really fit in is TMC, doing flatbed. Last I heard, they still have a strict "DON'T WALK ON THE GRASS!!!!" policy...
Almost anyone you encounter out here has no real idea what the military is all about, or they assume you still get up at 4am and run 12 miles.
    Oh, and Essayons!!!!

Not really. Not against the idea at all. I do need to get the rest of my endorsements and some more time on the road I think.

not really, you should pick out a few and apply to them, many of them are union, and many of them have solid consistent work because of an established customer base. This means good steady work.

AND I will tell you this, I like to hire a driver with LTL experience over OTR experience.

I was an OTR driver for a lot of years, this is a boring thing to do without the challenges of what an LTL or food/fuel delivery driver deals with, especially backing into very hard places to get into, it is a skills builder to me.

At the risk of overstating the obvious -- in response to the original post -- one of the best ways to research for good carriers is to listen to the feedback from other active drivers on this Forum.

There's an a-ma-zing amount of wisdom & experience here -- don't pass it up....or throw it away.

all VETS are on the top of the list to hire first. If I were to hire, it would be VETS first, but there would be a few of them out there to drive a truck, because i would choose all the Vietnam Vets first. But there all at least 74- 76 and up, years of age. There all Retired now, some not.

I was passing through Central Utah and heard a commercial for Paul Terry Trucking. Couldn't get much info except what's on Facebook and their very basic website. Do you have any inside scoop on them? Looking at CSA score and nothing jumped out at me. Their yard is about an hour from my parents.
