That accomplishes nothing and at best you could only heat the water in the reservoir. What about the water in the pump, or in the hose? So much easier just to use appropriate washer fluid. And this works better than isopropyl alcohol and water alone and the cost is not prohibitive and it cleans and cuts residue much better.
In extreme cold, warm or hot water freezes much faster than cold water.

You're right, it's all in my head. Going over Snoqualmie every night with frozen ice caked wiper blades is way better.

I'm still pretty sure the OP is referring to the "salt residue" common in the upper Midwest after the precipitation stops and you're only dealing with road spray.

Stand your ground. I don't know jack, grew up in Montana and have trucked in 49 states and a lot of western Canada. Apparently I know jack #### about keeping a windshield clear in the winter. Except that heating my washer fluid keeps me from having to stop every 5 miles to clean my wipers.Jazz1 Thanks this.

Okay driver. If you say so. You stand to become wealthy once you bring this concept you've discovered to market.

What are you talking about? Heated washer fluid and heated blades are rather common. I know snow plow guys that have been doing it for years.

This is just like all the people I see shoveling snow....you know spring is right around the corner..that crap will melt!!!

Have you found a product that works better than the other ?
Heat the washer bottle ?
Or the fluid after it is pumped out ? -
This was what Ford supplied in a 1987 LN 9000 for washer pump. I replaced with electric washer pump. These were a PIA! Ford did have washer reservoir in cab which did make a difference having it warm

I always drive with the vents set to floor and to defrost. My windshield fogs up if I don't have hot air blowing on it.
