    overheat means not enough air moving inside

    check the fan for lint.

    had one that got clogged with dust. just open it up and clean for good air circulation.

    over heat means no air

    It also means that the inverter is not designed right to handle induction loads. This is a common problem with either really cheap "pure" sinewave or most modified sinewave inverters.
