maybe someone knows how ins works with power only loads meaning who carries ins on the load.
-
try sending business cards to trailer dealers and such and see what happens. Ive done it and have found its a good deal going to get a trailer you bought but you don't want to get stuck b/t in the middle of nowhere..

from what i understand about power only you have to have your own authority which you have to have liabilty and cargo insurance to have that. i checked into jb hunts power only program and they only pay 70% of the gross, to me if i gotta pay all that insurance i would get my own trailer and make more money.
2hellandback Thanks this. -
Here's one for you O/O. What kind of rate would you charge for a "power only" haul ?
IE -- You pull someones trailer to a specified location, drop it, then bobtail home.
Combination weight would be less than 54k....... 734 miles, one way. -
10 cents under prevailing TL rate........ DEPENDING on the starting point and destination.

Oh gee great...my post got moved here...in a totally irrelavent thread discussing intermodal.

with a generator on it in Baton Rouge and brought it to San Antonio, TX for right around $2400 then bobtailed home....dancnoone Thanks this. -

trailer.
4 to 5 per mile is about what we average as we dead head about 50% of
the time. We specalize in the oil and gas industry and are paid round trip
rates as like I said we usually d/h home after del.
