I am thinking ground cause I just used the ground that is attached at the base of antenna. Wasn't very long, just long enough to reach one of the bolts on the mirror mount. I was thinking if I left that one alone and got an extra jumper to run from the mount bolt to inside the door to one of the bolts attaching the door to the truck's body, it should definitely take care of the grounding issue. (Maybe? lol) I figured if that didn't correct it, I will get someone who actually knows what they are doing.

Thanks for that. Exact same radio except they slapped the Harley Davidson logos on them. Then slapped an extra 50$ on the price tag. Thankfully this radio only cost me the time it took to take the safety quizzes on my company's website and spend the points ;)

Well still slightly on topic, why did they go away from the mounts on the cab to an internal one? At least put a decent one in.

To improve fuel economy, no antenna means less drag.

Yeah, in and of itself the antenna doesn't mean much but combined with other things like the screen mudflaps, fairings, closing gap between truck and trailer , low rolling resistance tires etc it adds up. and that is what the manufacturer is selling.
