Was just reading over this post from 2009. I'm having the similiar issues with my 03 Peterbilt turn left with deadpots. I did notice that you had asked the gentleman if he had lowered his truck. so since I had lowered mine i was wondering if you had any other ideas for a fix. the dead spots only turning left. Anything would be helpful,
Power steering problem.

You could have some blockage in the lines.
When's the last time you flushed your power steering system or changed the power steering filter (if equipped)?
Check your steering shaft coupler for binding.Last edited: Aug 28, 2017

Lots of good information in this post. Read it over. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

Can any one tell me why my power steering reservoir all of a sudden is overflowing. No work was done to it. It just started this week but turns fine. Just last week levels were perfect no its over flowing

Does the fluid look foamy? If it does you most likely have a leaking hose/fitting on the pump inlet, drawing in air and expanding the oil with air bubbles.
-
Does your power steering reservoir have a filter?
If it does and has never been changed, it could be clogged causing a restriction. -
Engine oil pushing through a failed seal on the power steering pump. Is the fluid black?
If it is a tandem steer truck it could be a leaking power steering cooler putting coolant into the oil but highly unlikely.TheBaron97 and SAR Thank this. -
Yep, either engine oil being pushed or sucked past the seal, or air is getting drawn in and causing it to foam. If no foam, then it is sucking in oil from the engine side of the drive.
SAR Thanks this. -
Yes i have a filter changed it today and it was black just like engine oil. Darn
