Looks like motor oil in there.

Yeah air compressor runs fine. I wonder if water is getting in there?

That looks contaminated with something. You have some serious issues there. Your power steering pump attaches to the backside of the air compressor, correct?

I wonder if they just through a new reservoir on there without draining ALL of the old fluid out at MHC? And did not follow procedures on bleeding the system of air? Something is not right here.

You can dump that old fluid on the ground and use that new fluid you have coming to refill the system with. Got any tools with you?

Yeah I have tools with me but only basic stuff. What will I need? Full bleed and all that right?

Should be a drain plug on the steering box. I have no clue if you have a power steering cooler setup on yours like I have on mine. Two lines from the power steering tank to a tube in the front, air cooled. If you don't, that is better, as the fluid should just drain right out of the steering box. BUT, do this at your own risk, as you will have air in the system. The book calls for elevating the front end to work that air out. BUT, you really have nothing to lose at this point, as odds are the pump is shot, I would drain it and see what happens, fire it up and work the steering wheel back and forth, it will sound/feel like crap, but you should be able to work the air out on the side of the road. Right now, you are kind of screwed, so I would attempt. Hopefully it works, and you can deliver your load.

Yeah I don't think I want to try anything that could make it worse yet. I want to see if I add more fluid if I can keep it calm enough to make it. I think fighting the wind out here with a half shot pump is what caused it to get boiling hot. And then it just boiled out of the top. So tomorrow imma shoot for the customer and if not...well the company i'm leased to handles customers pretty good lol

I don't blame you there, I'm sitting here at the house drinking beer. I have nothing to lose, but I have just replaced the power steering pump. It is an easy job, but not so much under a load that has to go. Milk her, just pray you don't have to call a hook.
