Put it in the air, put it on blocks under the axle at the points where the springs are so there is weight on the axle with the tires off the ground and see what it is like, if it is still stiff, then your geometry is off and those blocks you removed are for the alignment need to be returned.
ALSO just an FYI, there are very few mechanics who know how to actually align a truck, most of them know the basics but never seem to get past that. I had one post accident truck with 56k on the clock that would eat a right steer until I had a local old fart guy tell us he can fix it, I bet him the cost he couldn't but that truck has hit a million this past year. He fixed it, don't care how but he did.
