No you have to adjust them usually cut the whip down I run a monkey made you almost need bolt cutters to cut the stainless steel whip with a hacksaw its a ***** but the end result is well worth it I run a connex 4300 with a 4 pill fat boy and the monkey made and I shot skip all over the country when conditions are right

And you don't have to buy an expensive antenna to talk good. The Monkey Made and others like it are more broad banded than the fiberglass antennas like Francis, but for most, the inexpensive Francis, preferably the 5 1/2 ft or at least the 4 1/2ft one, will do a very good job and are cheap to replace.

WAS made for big rigs. I talked to the old man that makes them south of Ft. Worth. The original were also for big rigs but turned out the height was more than most wanted to contend with. I run the tall ones reaching a 13 ft. 9 inch height. They bank around on some things and lost the top buttons fairly quick. I run quite a few oil/gas locations and even with that, they are still there and handle 600-plus output.
