Another thing, I hate to tell you, you’ll never talk through those big radios. If “mud duck radio” from New Mexico can tell me “safety first” and sound like he’s right beside me, in Florida none the less, you stand no chance of overpowering him or others like him. Put some money in to your 29, find the right person to maximize its potential, set it up right, and you’ll have a good performing radio.

It's not the base stations I'm referring to.
It's billy bob smuck in his company Pete and his belief everyone is wants to hear about how great of a driver he is.

While I'm trying to hear or tell what Lane is blocked or the back way to get around is.

Before you purchase a high powered/high dollar radio put some money into your antenna system! SWR isn't everything. The stock antenna on the '19 Cascadia I drive has a great SWR reading but doesn't work worth a ####.
As far as the BIG radios clogging up ch 19......it's only going to get worse over the next couple of years! We're entering a new "skip cycle" and before long the noise level on 19 is going to be off the charts! You can thank solar propagation for the skip and the "Skip goobers" that go on 19 because they don't have enough "fire in the wire" to compete on ch 6 and 28!

I'm running a 5ft fire stick and a good ground with a bird perch mount. It picks up very well I just want to be able to be heard out and about

He's happy. He just wants MO Power.
I replaced the original wiring in my Volvo with a dedicated 12 feet best quality coax ran from the CB overhead bin through the arm and mirror, plus a new stud and a new antenna, a Wilson 2000 Trucker.
The radio is a President Electronics McKinley AM-SSB.
It goes out at least 4 miles in urban setting.
It receives California ch6 almost every day,

A cheap walkie-talkie with a coat hanger antenna will pick up the "Super Bowl" (ch6) when the skip is rolling!

My antenna is fixed? I don't get what you mean. 5ft firestick 900w rating?
The 29 puts out what 4w?

The antenna seems to be fine.
