I'm not a ham radio operator. I'm a truck driver that builds my own antennas. It doesn't take a genius to build an antenna from scratch using an antenna analyzer to tell you when you're getting close on your copper coil.

    That's right.

And it also doesn't take a genius to know that antenna length is of utmost importance as it has to do with wavelength. But you would already know that because you're so smart and all.

Guess this fellah doesn't know what he's talking about either.

"Theoretically, a longer antenna will have a greater range, but it is far more important for optimal radio performance that the length of the antenna matches the frequency. "

The problem with antenna length is you have physical length and you have electrical length. Some people have a difficult time comprehending the difference between the two. It would be an educational experience for you to unravel the copper wire from a firestik antenna and you would notice the physical length is much greater than 9 ft long after being unwound. Another interesting phenomena you probably haven't witnessed is if you unscrew the 8-in shaft from the bottom of a Wilson 5000 antenna and you attach a 4-ft shaft to the bottom of that same antenna you might only need to subtract 1 in from the whip. Perhaps you can explain why adding 4 ft of physical length underneath the load only causes you to subtract and inch off the top?

Beyond this, physical length is not even an absolute constant based on the frequency. It's based on the speed the radio wave travels through the physical material. Radio waves travel at slightly different speeds through different types of transmission lines, which could make the physical length needed a bit different. Extra class ham operator here.
