Search craigslist or truck paper for cab overs. Some are regular and some are already stretched and chromed out for sale

Only cab over you can get in a glider is a argosy

Kw and Pete haven't produced cab overs in over 15 years.

What do you guys know about the 2012 Columbia Gliders Schneider is selling? Someone told me because they have 2.64 ratio and Direct Drive (not overdrive), they would not perform very well in hills/mountain terrain. Do you know anything about those trucks? They have pre-EGR 12.7 Detroit Series 60 engines, remanufactured.
    Thank you!

Why would you want overdrive for mountains. I run mostly sorta flat ground and heavy. Hardly use over drive. The worst case is regear it. Like a 3.23 with the direct. I only use over drive empty or very light. Or really fast which almost never happens.

Well there is hundreds on the road all over the country hauling heavy freight. Why won't that work for you?

I felt the same about having a 13 spd when I replaced my broken 10 spd. I just put another 10 spd back in. Most of the trucks on the road are 10 spd. They pull the majority of the freight in the country!

Now, I do WANT a 13 spd to make my job more enjoyable but wasn't worth the extra expense this time around but I still get from point a to b.

Same with the trucks your looking at. Would I spec a brand new truck that way? Heck no!!! Will it and has it pulled billions of lbs of freight from coast to coast for years and years????

    Yes!

What's it worth to have diffrent gears or trans? only YOU can answer.
