Hey y'all! I'm about to attend my last week of CDL training at Roadmaster in Jacksonville, FL. I currently have 3 prehires for Werner, Trans Am, and Willis Shaw (Comcar Refrigerated Devision). I need some help and advice on what you think is the best company of those 3. I know each one of them has their pros and cons and I've heard good and bad things about all of them. I wanted to get some advice from people who have driven for any of these companies on what you liked about the company and what you didn't like. I understand that people have different experiences and different opinions of each company. I'm just trying to make the right decision for my first company. Thanks!![]()

is hometime important to you ?
-
Home time isn't a big concern to me considering I'm single so I don't have family obligations. But I would like to be home every 4-5 weeks
Chinatown Thanks this. -
My experience with Werner was ok, but it depends on you. They paid me well and didn't nag me like Swift did, but they never got me home and left me setting many weekends in a truck stop waiting on a load. The Dispatchers are rude. The Safety and Logging department are insane. Trucks were good and trailers were good. That about covers it..

Werner does mostly east coast with OTR drivers. They were real good about getting me home .I don't think the 3 yrs with them I didn't get home on the day I requested.Whatever company you choose, plz tell the other 2 you decided youre not taking their offer.
Puppage Thanks this. -
Werner - the annual pay is too low; too many drivers posting about making only about $30K. You're worth much more than that.
TransAm - good equipment with APU's
Willis Shaw - Florida based which is a plus for you. Also very nice trucks.
Probably a flip of the coin between Willis Shaw & TransAm; both good companies. If I lived in Chiefland I would go with Willis Shaw. -
Isn't the transAm fleet 100% lease? Automatics as well.
-
If I lived in Chiefland,
and hometime wasn't important.
And wanted to make a decent wage, and take the truck home,
I'd call Roehl..........
