Ah, you can't exactly just throw out the bum comment without a story, that's just wrong.

Definitely get some kind of illumination. The "real world" is not like CDL school. i.e. My first PTI out of CDL school was done early in the morning when it was still dark out. I wouldn't be surprised if part of why the company scheduled it so early was to see if I'd be bright enough to bring a flashlight.

I second the idea of getting one of those headlamp things. I need to dig mine out of my camping gear. That would beat the little Maglite that I've used.

Oh I never said I wouldn't be new after the 90 day period! Just saying that I wasn't given such a warm, heckling welcome when I was new on the forums! :biggrin_2554:

I have thought about a headlamp, but the light I have hangs, stands, lays down, and has a magnet on the bottom. In most instances that should work...especially since the light isn't omnidirectional.

    Kinda like this. http://www.lights.us.com/images/KL-LEC60-15.jpg

If I wasn't staying at a truck stop, I was always stopping at one before parking at receiver, when I did, I would always do a cursory walk around, to see if anything obvious while I'm at last place with parts and such...And, I always felt better if I caught something at night and fixed it than when I found it in the morning when I was ready to hit the road...

Yep, you don't lose too much money waiting for the mechanics when you were planning on breaking for 10 anyway.

That's funny, tucker. Maybe you unplug it and run like heck, before the light fades.:biggrin_2559: Those lights are pretty cool for working on something, though.

Light up a smoke and use the cherry, if your doing a level 2 don't forget to bring that extra smoke! Actually I just use a mag light, throwing iron, the tractor work lights are sufficient, use ambient light for drag chains.

Haha! Nope, mine is similar but not the same. Mine has rechargeable batteries and a detachable 12v cord. Shazam!
