Yep. Have a new truck (2017) & a great maintenance crew (24/7). I could go in for a wash & they do a full inspection during my 10 hour. A little spoiled...

Do you really trust them, you know who is in the hot seat. some just go and do the motions without really doing anything. You are the one responsible.

I just asked one of the drivers about this. He said "that's find and dandy but will not hold up in a court of law". Just an FYI. ;)

The reason it was always 15 minutes pre trip, is because we were always on paper in 15 minute incriments.

Bear knew nobody spent 15 minutes looking for a broken leaf spring, especially if you've ever actually seen one.

The flag at the end of the day for post was a gimme, so we didn't WASTE 30 minutes a day.

If you don't know you're truck is defective either while you're driving it, or when you shut down, you're probably better off working in the office.

We are definitely working with paper because we are a driveaway/towaway operation. I'm not sure it is a waste if it saves you from litigation in the end. There are things that can happen between the hours you are off duty. I am just a "desk jockey" though so I am sure you're going to take what I say with a grain of salt.

Most accidents aren’t caused by mechanical failure. They are caused by the nut that connects the seat to the steering wheel

30 minutes pre, 30 minutes post trip. I hauled gas-you tend to overcheck when your hauling hazardous materials. I’m allowed 60 minutes a day to do both. I do it everyday.
