I see this company all the time there whole fleet consist of garbage . You want somebody to live in a small cabover for 2 weeks straight then get 2 days off. Better off going to a union car hauler I believe cassens hauls out of that sia plant 1.19 a mile hotel every night lol it's really a no brainer . Talk to some of the union drivers you will probably want to quit pmtg

Read what i had to say about pmtg, I had a lot to say really! http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...33-pmtg-new-to-the-company-8.html#post2282493 I made a killer pay with them but it still doesn't change the fact that they are the bottom feeders of the industry. The money is there but you have figure out the system and play accordingly. Secondly for the rookies, you can spend your entire life there and know not a thing about car hauling or the industry at large, its all a matter of your agenda. the money is there if you know how to massage egos, talk slicker than a southern pimp, and act accordingly. Still a garbage company at best.

Had typed a very lengthy, wordy response slamming this company but decided to erase it. While I hate this company, realized I pretty much hate the trucking industry at large. Think it is awesome that this site exists and that you guys are smart enough to do your own due diligence before employment choices. Also it has been like 4 years since I've worked there, PMTG, and while I have friends that still work there I have no recent first person experience.Tall Mike, WhyDriveTruck and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this. -
You guys need a girl to chime in here.
my husband has driven with this company for 16 months and we are happy with them. Are they perfect? No way, but we are a young family with two little kids and for being the one at home having to deal with everything on my own, I find them as accommodating as possible. My husband is out for 16 days at time but he gets home as promised, we also live right off the Indiana Toll Road so he gets by the house regularly. The money is there, for sure. $70k isn't a joke as long as you're not a moron. Beggars can't be choosers so take what they give you, keep your mouth shut, and I promise they'll throw you a bone as often as they can. The equipment is crap, no doubt about it. I think I complain about it more than the man that has to live in it more than two weeks at a time does! But he makes it work and, aside from the small annoyances, it's fine. It's a truck not the Ritz. We're happy with the benefits except that we wish they would match 401k but it is what it is. From what we have seen, the guys that aren't picky or "holier than thou" will make the money. We know guys that have cleared $100k and others that can't crack $50k. Their attitude makes it easy to see why. Put in the time, prove yourself and they'll take care of you.

Out 16 days living in a cabover . I rather be in a hotel every night with union pay & benefits. I've seen those guys and talked to a few . Most of them looked tired run down and dirty .

My husband would rather be at home in his own bed than anywhere else but that's part of The job. Every job has hits downfall. our concern for going to Cassens (which would be very convenient for us) is the fact that its union. low man on the totem pole gets the shaft. i have no experience personally and i just know what my husband tells me, but here it seems like attitude determines what you get and how much you make more than anything else. As for being run down and dirty, that's a personal choice, I'm afraid. If my husband came home looking like the majority of drivers I see on the road or at a truck stop,I'd boot him out the door. Being in a tiny cab is a pitiful excuse to look and smell like crap. Those guys need to take pride in themselves. They're not just representing PMTG, but themselves.

Don't let "low man on the pole" scare him away. There's a lot of BS floating around about union carriers that isn't true.

Guess it just depends on how much you can overlook when enticed by money. Would much rather be dispatched by seniority, than the method PMTG used.

I work for a union tanker outfit and being the bottom man does suck but I feel it was well worth it..when I started it was rough ..no work I sat at home, when I did work it was short runs, if a temp. team was needed yupp me and the guy above me were teaming in a 40'' flat top need help at a different location off I went ..after a year I was hating it and thought about leaving but the old guys kept saying "stick it out " ...well I did and about 5 years into it the majority of the senior guys all retired and overnight I went from the bottom to #7 and things just kept getting better everyday...yes the first 5 years were rough but we struggled and made it work ..been here 15 years now Im not #1 yet but close..way better than I ever thought possible...yes being low man is rough but for me it was well worth it..I started here at 28 years old Im 43 now and should be senior man by the time Im 48..20 years from bottom to top is not bad...so dont be afraid of being at the bottom esp if a person is fairly young...
