So how goes it at PMTG?

When I was there(2009) I ran regional..6 on 1 off.
I live right in the middle of Curtis bay and jersey city so I did ok.
Ran harder out of Jersey City even though I was based out of Curtis Bay.

Equipment maintenance/breakdowns ran me off..Spent more time on the side of the road earning $10/hour then I did running..or so it seemed.
Plus the .16/mile deadhead was lovely.
I hear you guys make less than that now.
If PMTG would invest more into equipment they might have been able to stay on top.
But sadly it's not working that way.
Once Mercedes went open car it was all over.
They've lost a lot of contracts and the ones they didn't loose they share with other carriers.

The funny thing is PMTG WAS a top grade outfit..you had to have tons of experience to come on board.
Now they recruit out of driving school.
Everyone needs to start somewhere..after working there a year I'd move on.

That's what a friend of mine did..put his time in with them and moved on to Fleetcar.
He's doing very well and driving new equipment.

As for it being an easy job..I call BS on that.
It's hard work,long hours with a lot of attention to detail needed.
I'm sure the rookie thought it was easy till he got his 1st exception(damages).
Once they take the deductible out of your check it kind of wakes you up.
When I was there they didn't have a deductible you had to pay.

I wish you all luck running cars..IMO it's harder than flatbed.

I quit around the same time, and they were lowering driver's pay as I was on my way out. Not sure why anyone would work for them now, especially since they charge the driver, $$, for damages.
