    Have you tried it up top with no shaft? And the grounding issue could probably be solved pretty easily with some ground straps.

    If I can find a longer shaft to put under my Wilson I will do that. I'm trying to find longer shafts for Wilson now. 5 and 10 all seen so far

    Ok I will just but that shaft and try it. My coils will be lower than roof some tho hope it's ok. I'm actually getting out and receiving 7 to 8 mikes now with it low

    Have not tryed with no shaft up top, but doesn't need some shaft to screw together, isn't the bottom of Wilson just a hole

    Nooo dont buy a shaft that keeps coil below roof...Have a machine shop make you up something..

    Dirty....Bottom part of the coil on a 2000 is threaded...Once he has a taller shaft made to get that coil above the roof he will need to shorten whip accordingly to tune for resonance..

    I'm getting out i guess ok now I was talking with a driver 7 to 8 miles up the interstate in tx yesterday but I bet it will be a lot better once I get it above my roof. I'm still new to this cb antenna stuff
