I am wondering which would be your prefered method of talking with a recruiter? would you prefer to go to a recruiting event? online? a company office? over the phone? mailings? Driver that recruits? or any other way you may think of. I am asking because i can remember back in the 90's constantly seeing hiring events and actually going to a Schneider recruiting event held at a local hotel meeting room. I remember getting brochures and actually talking to the recruiter face to face and being able to ask questions. I know it's cheaper to just do it other ways but i think a new driver would benefit from the face to face way.

I just wanted to see other's ideas. I'd like to be able to pose questions face to face and put the recruiter in the hot seat.

I prefer an event, either at a truck school/truck show/hotel conference room or similar. Reason is, they want to talk with you VS you bothering them making phone calls.

I went to a Schneider hiring event at the Mulberry Inn outside the Ft Eustis Army Base in VA in 2000 and then went to another in Charlotte at the OC a year ago.I want to meet face to face.

Yeai think face to face is the best way but then i don't want it to be on their turf though. I'd like it to be neutral ground......LOL

:biggrin_2554:Is this just for for schneider only? but my favorite way,,,, would be to look ,,,,,,out my living room window and see the CEO of the company,,,, and whole bunch of other people standing there telling me that i am the best driver/person, and then they can't make it with out,,,,,,me and then show up with a limo and ,,,,,wine and dine me all night, then,,,,,,,,,,(here's the good part) they tell me i can do what ever I want and they are going to pay .50 per mile..........you get the idea.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:

I picked Schneider because of the recruiter that came to my CDL school. I just liked their presentation more. Can't say why but I liked them.

I want a live presentation but also a phone number that I can call to ask any questions. I have a bad habit of thinking of 5 new questions as soon as I hang up the phone.

This is exactly what Schneider had. After watching the presentation I took a card.

A year after getting my CDL I finally turned 21 and submitted my application shortly after midnight on my 21st Birthday. Called them the following day and got things rolling. They were very helpful and answered any questions I had along the way. Never once did they sound like I was bothering them. I eventually got to meet my recruiter at Green Bay while I was there for Orientation. Talked to her several times and she was more than happy to answer my questions.

While I am here to make a living I also want to enjoy it. If they had treated me like crap I wouldn't have stuck around. So far everybody who I've talked to has answered my questions to the best of their ability. If they couldn't they would ask somebody else who could.
