true, and you can correct me if i’m wrong but a 10spd can’t take the big power & big tq.
as i recall when i bought my truck, she was turned up as much as she could be. C-15 @ 475hp 1650tq. That was because of the 10spd it had in it.
when i installed the 13spd i also added a trans cooler and now have since had the truck turned up.
again like you said, i didn’t need an 18, so i went with a 13spd.

I'm not so sure 10s CANT take big hp and torq... But more that they dont NEED it. If you really need big hp and torq, you probably NEED a 13 or maybe even and 18.GreenPete359 Thanks this.

We have one truck here with a Eaton Fuller FRO-18210c in it. Supposedly good for 1850lb ft of torque. That truck is making north of 650hp 2050lb ft of torque and it seems to work fine. (It only has 300k on the odometer though) Then again, the guy driving it doesn't beat it either.
We went with the 10 speed for the weight savings, although I'm not sure it was the right move.GreenPete359 and Cattleman84 Thank this. -
You don’t need an 18 speed, you don’t need anything more then 300 horse either or even power steering and AC, but it sure is nice to have.
there’s still guys running 125 series trans with cranked up b/c/e models for years, it’s all in how you driveCattleman84 and GreenPete359 Thank this.
