Wondering if someone could help me out. I'm sure that I'm just missing something obvious. We added a 2012 VNL to the fleet and want to change a few parameters. Some big ticket items are.... Max Speed Max Cruise Cruise Trim i-Shift Performance Mode i-Shift Auto Neutral Dash Cluster Configuration (Add suspension pressure) LCM Current Threshold (Upgrade to LEDs) I have no problem purchasing the basic PTT for diagnostic purposes, but I'm not sure if it is capable of the above functions? Do you need the specific ECM programming functionality for the i-Shift and LCM programming? Can I even program any ECUs on a 2012 with the fleet-level PTT? On the website it says specific ECM programming for EPA13+ trucks? Talked to both the dealer and PTT support and I didn't really seem to get any consistent answers. Would someone here be able to shed some light on how Volvo software works? Thanks
Hi! You do not need the "specific ECM programming funtction" until you start re-writing or programming ECUs. Such as getting a new ECU... deleting DPF... uprating the engine. You can program the 2012... I just programmed my 2012 daycab. Speed, cruise and the Headlights to LEDs. Let me know if you have any questions. I have a PTT how do you program the lights from OEM to LEDs? I go into program exterior lights but I don’t know what values to input in the lights. I don’t want to disable the warning but program it to work with LED lights without error. Thanks!
I do not see P1Q8B. When I go to Program, Parameter programming under my lighting it’s a drop down menu to select from. 0 = Disable 2 = Enable 100 mA 10 = Enable 500 mA I’ve tried both option 2 and 10 still get the fault codes with LEDs.
