What I was told is that they take a picture of your license plate and mail it to you. Just what I was told. But I do know that it does not work in TX. But I was also told its in the works cause the tools are fairly new to the Dallas Fort worth area. Again not 100% sure.

The only place I really want to use the toll road in Texas is to go around Austin on the 130. They have been charging trucks same as cars. I think it would be $6-$7 to use it.

As said before, prepass the scales, ezpass the tolls. AFAIK prepass works with all equipped scales, and ezpass works on the majority of the tolls, but I'm aware there are some it does not take care of.

Never had a snag ezpassing. You can go through a toll lane (usually to the right of the rest of the freeway) and prepass in a marked lane, or you can steam through the ezpass area where you don't even have to slow down. I have done and had to do both. Just watch your signs.

Prepass - as the signs say, follow the in-cab signal. Green steady beep means keep on truckin, red light and a quick beep means you now have to watch for signs. I have seen open tolls not prepassing anyone (I got pulled into the scale while dead heading; obviously just rolled over the scale and kept going). I have gotten a red light and fast beep just to find a "Closed" sign up ahead. I have also gone past those big prepass beams that hang over the highway and had literally nothing happen in-cab. Just watch the signs and pay attention. No big deal.

I looked up ez pass in tx. as long as its interoperable with the other texas tolls ez pass is accepeted. I have used ez passin Austin and Houston, but dallas is suppose to be the same too.

EZPASS does NOT work in Texas. Houston has their own system called EZ TAG which is confused a lot with EZPass. Dallas has a system called TollTag, and elsewhere in Texas there is a third system called TXTag.

All three systems in Texas are interoperable with each other, but NONE work with EZPass.

stay out of those states then you never have to worry ;)

My last truck had the Sunpass, KS, OK and a couple others yet I was western regional and never used any of them, my truck now has only the ks besides the ezpass but I dont leave CA anymore.
