Presumptuous brokers and even lower rates

You are 100% correct.. I also have my carriers set up direct deposit so you don't have to wait on the mail man.. Yes everyone is making changes to meet the carriers needs. Myself I have several customers that require original bills signed for payment and over the years the only way I could make sure I got paid to was to require original bills signed and sent to me. I believe everyone is making changes to better meet the carriers needs today, some just take longer than others and it's also getting the customer also to work with us in meeting your all needs..

Don't let that stop you from booking a load by having to sending in the originals for payment, get set up on direct deposit and sometimes waiting a few extras days for payment for a better rate is always worth it to most carriers. I'm not saying every time you see a UTi load it is a better paying load you would have to be the judge on that one all I'm saying if it comes down to booking a load that pays better but they require the original bills for payment in most cases It might be worth booking the better paying load and waiting a few extra days for payment. You can always use Quick Pay, Fuel Advances and get set up for direct deposit also..

 

I have mixed feelings about everything going electronic, but it can make the process much faster and easier. I have always kept copies of delivered loads and all associated paperwork. I have had a few that have gotten lost over the years. I have even had a couple of Tripak get mislaid or misfiled. For the most part, things have been smooth with both. One company with whom we have done a fair amount of business over the years is now accepting Transflo rather than requiring originals. That saves us money and helps us to get paid sooner. This company resisted the electronic bills for a number of years, so things are changing.

 

If originals are required and you need the cash flow, you can always over night the bills to the broker or shipper. It isn't cheap, but will speed up the process. If you can find a post office, the costs are not as high as with FedEx or UPS. If the load pays well enough, you can pay the extra cost of over night postage.

 

What does UTI stand for?

Yes you are correct, that would be UTi Worldwide.. We are all in it together.. UTi Transportation is here in the states and UTi Worldwide the name says it all there.. It does get a little confusing for some guys that don't know..

 

Well then I can testify that you can get good money out of UTI for specialized work in remote parts.
I got paid $40 000-00 for moving a load less than a mile.
Right equipment , right place , right time and no one with in 1000 miles or with in a month could help.
That was the offer they gave me so I said , I think I can help.
Half day job and I even got a big thank you with prompt payment.
