As much as that may be true, you can end your career with laziness and stupidity when you don't do the job you need to do.

So true. I'll add to the point that in my part of the industry your reputation speaks volumes good or bad. Of course the bad ones are only temporary and the best ones end up with the best job. Your first day of training starts when you make that decision to drive professionally and ends when you no longer drive. Those that think they know all there is to know can be spotted with ease and it's not only because they're driving junk but also their attitude. I'll take the ole days when a driver trainer was just that, a trainer. His or Her reputation was on the line and the worse thing you could do was bring discredit to the trainer. Being a professional means more than just being paid for driving.
