Kind of like this. Let’s not pretend wages have not been stagnant while inflation kept going.
Maybe if companies paid their employees more they wouldn’t struggle to find workers. -
You're correct to a point, but , all of the fast food around here pays right at $10 hour. That's good money considering it's really a job you'd only take if you were just starting out or really needed a part time job. But they still can't find people.God prefers Diesels and drvrtech77 Thank this.

Lots of companies are paying higher..i keep hearing from places that the lazy no for good bums work 2 days then quit... there are plenty of ways to get skilled job training at little to no cost with grant money.. there is no excuse for these bums to sit on their behinds and collect a check which is coming from my tax dollars.AModelCat, God prefers Diesels and Jaebo74 Thank this.

And they work for these companies that pay poverty wages and you still have to subsidize their living via welfare and gov assistance.
regardless of the work or skill required companies should not and now are not able to get away with paying poverty wages.
End companies using government assistance given to workers to park their profit margins.Jaebo74 Thanks this. -

well my roofers showed up, on time. Monday morning.
8 guys and 2 gals.
all from Ecuador, i was told by the contractor, that have been working for him for at least 3 years. and actually live at least 1 hour away from me up in the Boston/Brockton(??) area.
the 2 gals were like 5 foot (if they were an inch) and they hoisted a bundle of shingles on thier shoulders like it was a bag of feathers.
i got back pains, just watching them...lol
the job started at about 8 AM, and by 1:45 they were gone. this includes cleaning up as well.
(it was a layover, not a full strip and new wood, with leaf guards installed as well)
2 different supervisors checked in on them, and knew they did a good job. it started out chilly, then warmed up later. they did not stop for a break, just kept on working.
this contractor is well known, and highly recommended by many.
if he can have confidence in those workers, so can i.Final Drive, drvrtech77 and Jaebo74 Thank this.
